Samira Ghahremani, born in 1990 and raised in Vienna, graduated in Media Technology from the FH St. Pölten in 2012. In between she studied and worked in Leeds, Nairobi and Vienna. Since 2012 she has been working as a freelance editor and assistant editor for cinema (e.g. the Viennale'20 award-winning Please Hold the Line, directed by Pavel Cuzuioc) and television (e.g. the series Reiseckers Reisen). In addition, she studied editing at the Vienna Film Academy (graduated in 2020), and directing (since 2018). As a director, she realized, among others, the short feature film Voltage (2017), which was shown at the Berlinale. In 2021, she received the BMKÖS Startsipendium for cinematic art. Her debut documentary Good Life Deal premiered at the Diagonale in 2022.
